My first rough tracking mix on opals - thy art is murder

I posted a thread in the main forum to announce the release of the actual CJ mixed version but here is the rough I gave to him along with the raw consolidated files. Id like to keep the rmm style comments in here for either his or my mix.

This is very, very bright. Too much ear fatiguing.

yeah Marshy.... just has a very nasty feeling frequency range. The high mids-highs just sound odd and kind of stick in your ear like an icepick...

you're getting there.... i can hear your style and vibe in there a TON... you just need to keep practicing constantly and it'll all come together....it'll just take time to develop the EARS (most importantly) and skillset secondly to really achieve your fruition.... =D

I'm gonna go back through with my time off and really work on my attention to mid detail, in particular the high mid content. Hopefully the solid touring hasn't taken up too much of my 2-5k. Misplaced my in ear filters at a few shows

yeah this really hurts!

sounds like you've killed your ears. judging by this mix, your hearing starts to taper off at like 11 or 12k, maybe even less
