This is just a short riff in mono and then stereo.

I used an i5, V30, and Mesa Boogie Quad preamp. The volume was very low, no speaker excursion whatsoever..
Mixed in Logic using the standard channel EQ.

I know it isnt very good, but is it totally fail ?? I am a perfectionist judging myself.

You know what song and album, but I made a "variation" of that riff ;)

The double tracked section sounds better than the mono, but overall the guitars are very hollow sounding. Since the volume is so low, I imagine you're getting a lot more room tone picked up in the mic than normal and that's gonna cause the hollow sound. But I could be completely wrong, so if someone wants to correct me I'm all ears.

The lesson here is crank the amp so you get the speakers pushing air, them tubes saturating, and keep room tone bouncing back at a minimum. If you can't do that for one reason or another, sims are where it's at.
