So, I need some help on this. I just started experimenting with punch-in riffs and etc. so I need some tips as to not make it sound "programmed."
I'd never record a riff doing this way for myself, I'm only doing it so I can get experienced at when the time comes and this would be the last resort.
I should make it clear that I can play this riff perfectly as a whole, but for extra practice, I punched in every single note.

Here's what I have so far.

You make it sound less programmed by telling the band to fuck off until they can play their music properly.

Hahahhaha I totally agree. But I'm just trying this out so I know how to do it when the time comes.
Trust me, I'd much rather the guitarists be able to pull their stuff off, but unfortunately this isn't the case all of the time, even more so with inexperienced bands.
