At the ProgPower festival earlier this year, I was talking to one of the Century Media guys and asked him if he could recommend a release to me. He took notice of my Dead Can Dance t-shirt so we started talking about them. He told me that I might like Orphaned Land because I liked exotic sounding music. Since I had heard - and liked - OL's cover of "Mercy," I decided to buy "Mabool." I went back to my room and listened to it and loved what I heard. Even my brother got into the album in a big way, and he used to not like death metal vocals (OL changed his mind about that!).

I just received my copy of "The Beloved's Cry" today and like it as well. I decided to look up info on the band online and liked what I read about OL's message. As much as I already liked the music, the themes of praise to God and the reconciliation between faiths strikes a powerful chord in me.

So, there's my story :) Peace be unto the OL guys.
