Even if you do, it's not something you should do before being absolutely familiar with the sound of your system. How else would you know it to make any difference? Besides, it's always something very subtle and wtf knows if it's the power of suggestion making the difference.

You can make yourself feel better about your system by storing your sub in the garage for a year and then, in a moment of inspiration, hooking it back up. It's like having a whole new system even though it's the same old shitty shit.
