my latest work (still in progress)

here's my most recent work.

this mix is finished except, i need to bump the vocals up a bit.

anyways, just wondering everyone's thoughts on the recording / production / mix / mastering.

i dont want to know your opinion on the song / band / music as i have no control over that (although i did contribute quite a shit load of ideas to this record).

mosh

i like it once the vocs come up a bit i think its kool since your still mixing i take it that not the final master then but overall sound pretty nasty expecially the drums....

Sounds great, Ive tried recording bands with the drop A-G subcrap tunings and could never get them this clear. Great work

Really really nice job man!! How the hell can you be so patient to quantize the drums oh dear god, how do you do it right? Since you have your overheads and the room mic (optional)!! The band is also pretty cool :)

Its really all on the player and his string gauge. I find that so long as the person is really tight and he has thick enough strings for the tuning, you can usually just treat it like any other guitar tracks. Atleast thats what I do with all my stuff thats in DropA/G.

Oh and way less gain.

the label hates it, and wants it to have....

more bass, more grit, shittier everything (they literally want it to sound shitty)

and i think the guy is tryin to tell me to make the bass drops distort the mix.

awesome.... NOT

Hate the music, love the production! Drums, as previously mentioned, sound god-like, though perhaps there's just a bit too much attack in the kick IMO (but that's the only "critique" I can think of, and I'm really reaching it!)

I'm not much on the style of the song personally, but it sounds like it belongs on an album. The vocals actually seem to be fine where there at on my end. Guitars are pretty massive sounding and they sound good. Drums also sound very good. I can't say I would want anything changed on this mix.

amazing man! this sound incredible...
how do you record guitars??
pod, revalver...???

could you share presets and guitars posteq???

Fuckem it sounds great! However, to tickle there jollys I would put on a saturation plug or just put a limiter on the bus and slam the hell out of it for them just to appease the shitty quality. :Puke:
Im sure they are thinking quality mixes are Metallica esqe.

BTW Love the synth part in the starting at 1:15!

I really liked the song :kickass:

The production is great, too. Too bad you'll have to deal with this label, working with some people is a lot worse than manually adjusting drums  All you can do is try to reach some compromise I guess.
