My name is Bond - James Bond

I've yet to see the film, but when the video for Jack White & Alicia Keys' QoS theme first hit YouTube I spent a weekend trying to re-write the song. (To me its chorus sounds more like a good pre- that builds to a big soaring chorus that never happens.) Wish I could remember what I came up with. :erk:

So you guys seriously don't like the new Bond's? I think it's rather good to finally see something fresh instead of typycal mister_nice_guy-kill_me_and_fuck_my_girlfriend scheme. And Craig's performance is soo brutal and alive.

Why james bond kicks ass? Here is 3 reasons.

- The peculiar sense of humor
- The amount of non sense
- And he always gets the hottest chicks

I agree man, especially for Casino Royale, my 2nd favourite Bond movie after Goldfinger tbh!

I heared, the image quality of the James Bond blu rays (even the 60´s) should be absolutely great! I will get me "the spy who loved me", Moonraker and Goldfinger on blu ray...okay and Dr. NO and Goldeneye. DAMN! :D

Casino Royale is the best Bond film after Goldeneye that has come in the last decade or so. I like the "how it all started" concept.

Fuck yes. Rolex can suck it.

And FWIW... Daniel Craig is my favorite Bond.

Yes, it's really amazing to watch these movies again on blu-ray.. Amazing quality. Some movies are not that spectaculair to watch on HD, but every James bond blu-ray is a new Bond experience...for me atleast..

The only thing is, and this is about to get really gay but I don't give a fuck I'm high so yeah, I don't think it's really a "how it all started" concept though. Think about this. They have made Bond films for ages, however, generally speaking, the actors are all around the same age range, like 30-40 or whatever. Now, Daniel Craig is younger than Brosnan, BUT, M (Judi Dench) is in CR and QoS, also the fact that everything else is modern time, cars, etc. So Bond never gets old and it's always in whatever time period the movie was released in. So, rather than being a how-it-all-started kinda thing, I think what it really is, is you are to assume that the name James Bond and 007 are just given to a new person who takes it over basically, maybe due to the previous being KIA or retiring, whatever.

Yeah, that's gay....

Seriously though, I'm definitely not an expert on james bond but from what I've read and saw it's pretty obvious to me that in Casino Royal they were attempting to make a fresh start for the series. It is, after all, based on the book "casino royal" which is the first Bond book Ian Flemming wrote. They take a whole new approach which is to make it more dark and serious and they attempt to give the audience a better understanding of how James Bond came to be the person we all know. I really like it because it actually tries to have some character development and manages to make the viewers to actually care about the characters.

I haven't read any of the books but I've heard that Daniel Craig's bond is actually closer to the Bond in the books.

Anyway, I really hope they continue with the style they used in casino royal.

It's just that Judi Dench is M in CR and QoS, which makes no sense if it were going back to the beginning of the Bond story since she started during Brosnan's run. I digress...

Jed Bartlet: Can I tell you what's messed up about James Bond?

Charlie Young: Nothing.

Jed Bartlet: "Shaken, not stirred" will get you cold water with a dash of gin and dry vermouth. The reason you stir it with a special spoon is so not to chip the ice. James is ordering a weak martini and being snooty about it.
