I think only people in my age group will recognize this, but it's a trend that's been sweeping facebook pics, and for the life of me I can't figure it out.

WHY.jpg

I'm sure it means absolutely nothing, of course, people are just insecure and revert to some random pose whenever a camera is stuffed in their faces, but I couldn't resist dragging it into the light :D

Barely related but I still get a kick out of my Facebook display pic post-Halloween...

Hands down, the best fucking presentation pic I've seen so far :D

Oh and Marcus, that's pretty hilarious :) I know, many people tend to feel the damn need to pose as soon as a camera is present. It's rather annoying. I wish people could just be themselves instead of being each other, so to speak.

And would you please stop talking about Facebook? I promised myself years ago that I wouldn't sign up because of their shitty policy where they own your pictures, but lately I've been thinking if I should do it... so many people are there and I really feel the urge to meet new people and it's a step in the right direction :) Wow look at me, I'm advertising Facebook to myself... guess I'm sold. Just gathering some strength before I go sign up.... some day soon... *sigh*. :)

Hahahahahahahaha Adam and Nic

And Erkan, screw it, just do it dude - facebook is the shit, and who cares if they own pics of you, it's not like you're planning on making money off of 'em! I hope... :D

I suggest you go the the facebook page and actually read their privacy policies. I heard people say the same thing about the music you post there.
Bullshit.

It's true that this is only something I've heard, but everyone says so, I was assuming it was correct... even saw it on the swedish news or something a long time ago. So you mean they don't own the pictures you post? Well, I guess I could read it when I there to sign up..

Here's a quote from facebook's terms of use :

User Content Posted on the Site

You are solely responsible for the photos, profiles (including your name, image, and likeness), messages, notes, text, information, music, video, advertisements, listings, and other content that you upload, publish or display (hereinafter, "post") on or through the Service or the Site, or transmit to or share with other users (collectively the "User Content"). You may not post, transmit, or share User Content on the Site or Service that you did not create or that you do not have permission to post. You understand and agree that the Company may, but is not obligated to, review the Site and may delete or remove (without notice) any Site Content or User Content in its sole discretion, for any reason or no reason, including User Content that in the sole judgment of the Company violates this Agreement or the Facebook Code of Conduct, or which might be offensive, illegal, or that might violate the rights, harm, or threaten the safety of users or others. You are solely responsible at your sole cost and expense for creating backup copies and replacing any User Content you post or store on the Site or provide to the Company.

When you post User Content to the Site, you authorize and direct us to make such copies thereof as we deem necessary in order to facilitate the posting and storage of the User Content on the Site. By posting User Content to any part of the Site, you automatically grant, and you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant, to the Company an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, fully paid, worldwide license (with the right to sublicense) to use, copy, publicly perform, publicly display, reformat, translate, excerpt (in whole or in part) and distribute such User Content for any purpose, commercial, advertising, or otherwise, on or in connection with the Site or the promotion thereof, to prepare derivative works of, or incorporate into other works, such User Content, and to grant and authorize sublicenses of the foregoing. You may remove your User Content from the Site at any time. If you choose to remove your User Content, the license granted above will automatically expire, however you acknowledge that the Company may retain archived copies of your User Content. Facebook does not assert any ownership over your User Content; rather, as between us and you, subject to the rights granted to us in these Terms, you retain full ownership of all of your User Content and any intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights associated with your User Content.

Jesus Dan, so much facepalm to that pic

And James, I totally had to google that, but it's more of a fauxhawk actually (though I can see how you'd think so from the angle of my head and the lighting :D)

I'm not sure of the extent of truth on the matter but I've been told not to throw up reverse peace fingers here in Australia because it is regarded the same as throwing up the bird.
Personally, I endorse peace and enjoy throwing reverse peace fingers because I'm lazy and cant be bothered twisting my arm around to show the palm of my hand when waving hello.

Oh ok, so they get the rights to use them for whatever they want but they don't own them. We'll, it's almost the same thing anyway :P

Kinda...as far as I know what the first bold text part means is that you give them the right to show/play your picture/music on their site (which is what you want to do in the first place), and you will find similar terms of use in other sites like myspace, soundclick etc.
I'm not sure why these sites feel the need to make such terms of use... but thinking that they did so they can steal your music or photos is pretty stupid IMO.

Hey Marcus, just because I'm the king of going off topic...I see a Tannoy 5d on yer desk there. How do you like em? I have a pair of tannoy 8ds myself :P

edit: or I guess they call those the Reveal 5as
