A song I've been working on for my EP/Album-Thingy.

What do you guys and gals think of the song? Could it work as an opener for an album?

I made a little video of me playing it as well, because.. well, it's fun to do! :P

Cheers!

Scott: Thank you!

PremierProductions: Is it fast forwarded? :/
Well, it's not really great quality, but then again, it's rock! ;)

dude i LOVE the guitar tone, may i ask what you did use: guitars, bass guitar, amps, mics and how many takes?

thank you, song is killer!

Thanks guys!

For guitars I used about 10,000 hours of tweaking on my Pod HD300, with the Park 75 amp with a Boost Comp. In cubase I put some compression and eq with a slight room reverb. Quad tracked with 2 on axis mic tracked guitars R80/L80 and a lot lower, just to add some extra fullness... I have the preset here: http://line6.com/customtone/tone/212634/

For bass, it's a clean line in recording with the Amp Farm-something plug-in or whatever it's called. I processed it a lot! Compressed really hard, but I think the most important part of it is the EQ. I spent many days/weeks tweaking back and forth, trying to get a sound I liked that fit well with the other instruments. I cut most of the midrange, boosted 50+ Hz and did a really narrow cut at 70 Hz for the kick to get some space.

Drums are Superior 2 Metal Forge with the Avatar (the standard kit?) snare.

My bass is a really crappy – impossible to tune – Squire Jazz Bass.

The guitars, of course, my trust Gibson SG, which has been my only guitar for the past 12 years. I love him 
