Nachtmystium out of the tour!!!

Most likely they'll be replaced by local openers in most venues until the next touring opener is ready, whenever that day is.

omfg they were going to play?? I've been dying to know when their next tour would be! Gah, I live in Houston and I so did NOT know Natchmystium was going to play there, too. :( I'm not fond of the other bands, but eh, I guess it's good that Opeth plays longer.

Edit: ohh god this is for Quebec lol I honestly wouuld be surprised if Natchmystium were to play before Opeth for the Houston concert; it's in less than a month away.

*kicked off the TOUR*
...So they were supposed to play before Opeth all along? Damn it.

I'm pretty sure they're on the rest of this, probably just not making the Canadian dates.

Nachtmystium are solid dudes, don't judge them based on fucking rumors.

Due to some issues beyond our control, we've been forced to pull off of the Opeth / High On Fire tour. We're aggressively working to try to get things together for the 2nd leg of our fall tour starting in Los Angeles on October 8th with Wolves in the Throne Room.

We apologize to anyone who was hoping to see us on the Opeth leg of the tour.
Thanks to all of those who came out in support at the shows that we did manage to play, it was great seeing you maniacs out!!

Metal and Hell,
Nachtmystium.

Sucks. They were fucking great in Worcester.

i'm a black metal fan too :), and i didn't like their old stuff, but their new album is a bit beyond just stright up black metal. it has some progressive elements
i read in july's terroriser that they based the new album off the pink floyd album meddle. it's pretty cool, although i'm not the biggest pink floyd fan
Yeah I just got Assassins. It's good!

Commented NACHTMYSTIUM in a statement: "Due to some issues beyond our control, we've been forced to pull off the OPETH/HIGH ON FIRE tour. That's going to be a cool tour, I'd tap that. Nachtmystium's new album is pretty cool, I like all the psychedelic elements they put in there :Smokin:

For anybody who's seen a show since Nachtmystium left the tour, what were the set times like for Opeth and High on Fire? Did either band play extended sets or did the show just end earlier or what?

It is very unlikely that Opeth extended their set. It's their tour, they'll play as long as they want to play. 10 songs is pretty much all they play at most headliners, it seems to be what they're comfortable with, so I wouldn't expect anything.

High on Fire might have been extended, or the venue might have added on a local band, I couldn't say anything about that.

From what I saw in another thread, Opeth played a few medleys. I think it was a Judas Priest medley and another one with a few of their own songs (Face of Melinda was one IIRC).

At Quebec City, unfortunately High On Fire played a longer set.
I kind of wish that HoF had gotten kicked off instead of Nachtmystium, it would have been cool to discover new bands.
But really high on fire is ridiculous, its like some crappy american knockoff of motorhead minus everything good. The songs are constructed ENTIRELY of generic power chords (wit no catchy or nice sounding riffs) and his solo's are horrible, he really just hits random notes and it shows.

however, opeths amazing playing more than made up for this!
