I'm omnipresent
Here are some links to some of the new stuff that I'm interested in...now is the time to check all your favorite gear websites/forums for new products:

I'm quite excited about the Mark V...I don't know how likely it is that I'll actually get one, but I'd VERY much like to get my hands on one to test drive and then go from there.

Guthrie's new Suhr signature model. Not many people can hold a candle to Suhr's craftmanship and this one's sure to be a stunner.

PRS now doing acoustics....they make great instruments (though very overpriced). I've heard great things about these acoustics so far (Eric Johnson was given one some time back and he seemed genuinely impressed)

These have me curious...no real opinion or thoughts on them yet, but I wouldn't mind learning more or giving one a spin

They know how to make a good distortion/overdrive box, so I'm hoping this is good. I've been on the market for a good chorus so I'll keep an eye on this one.

Could be cool

Should be killer.

well....:puke:. The new flanger looks cool, and I'm glad to see the old Timmons model back (with a ridiculous price tag, no less), but that's about it. Well, I guess the increased use of maple fretboards is cool. I think the new Jem is the worst thing they've put out in a long time...almost bad enough to make me sell my 7vwh out of shame.

Musicman also has some cool stuff out, but I haven't seen some good links w/ pics yet. Their 25th anniversary guitar is killer, but I'll wait until next year when it becomes a regular production model (and is available in more than one finish) to get too interested. I'm also interested in the new budget-line of guitars they are doing.

Bogner supposedly has some new lower end (not the alchemist which, btw, blow ass IMO) stuff coming out. They are also reissuing a very limited run of the Fish preamp, but that's not really new news.

Still checking stuff out, I'll add to this as needed.

haha true enough....that said the only things in that post that are actually potential future purchases are the Mark V and the PRS acoustic. When the 25th anniversary EBMM becomes a regular production model next year and is available with more options I'll definitely consider it (assuming i like it when I get to play it of course....but the specs have me drooling already).

The Guthrie model looks great and has some killer specs, but at that price I'd just get my own custom Suhr (sounds good actually....).

The PRS is nice looking...I've been investigating the Breedloves...seems like nice bang for the buck.

Hey Meeds...just a note...I just bought a BBE Green Screamer...best TS808 clone(and then some) going. Huge bang for the buck!(65 bucks new on eBay...normally 99) Just a tip. I love most of their stuff...the Boosta Grande too...I have one...by far the best clean boost around...79 bucks for 20dB...not $150-$250 for these so called "boutique" pedals.

I like your choices...those Mesa amps look gorgeous...way out of my price range...especially with one kid in college!

That Radial chorus is especially interesting to me...I was just in the market. I purchased a Boss CH-1. It was inexpensive and suits my needs...I like a subtle chorus. Radial has quite a few interesting new pedals in that BonesX line.

I'm liking that Ibanez is doing the colors thing. Thats what most of the fans want... check out ibanez forums and jemsite to see what I'm talking about. At least Ibanez are listening.

zzz I guess I'm not a gearhead. Namm is about as relevant to me as a guitarist/keyboardist/producer as african bird calls are relevant. Ie, so far off the radar not a blip in sight.

Actually, it's the same for me, too. I know next to nothing about guitar, amps and effects. I would guess that it has something to do with the fact that I always had to stick with cheap stuff because of money issues. Still do today, so I don't get excited about this kind of stuff.

However, I may get excited over any new 7/8 strings!:)

Everyone has their thing...I tend to only be interested in things that are a reality for my meager musical allowances...I love trying to get bang for the buck and musical equipment is fun to investigate. I constantly buy and sell on eBay...it's a bit of a hobby. Some folks love video games or football...I love guitars, amps and effects.

computers and a/v hardware software. i guess the recording end of things (like protools etc) falls into my realm of interest.

how is namm this year anyway? I heard on public radio that the typical buzz surrounding tech expos has been markedly less this year do to the economy.

I would imagine everything would be scaled down...the economy is hard hitting a few of my friends. I had to lay someone off at work last week...that sucks.

I'd like to learn more about recording...I just don't have any private space in my house...makes it near impossible to focus on anything.

The convention itself and all the related events don't seem to be scaled back too much, but a lot of the smaller retailers don't seem to be sending people this year.

Not NAMM related, but certainly small vendor related. I just pulled the trigger on this baby...a Effects Pedal Boutique SRB 808 Plus...seems like an amazingly versatile pedal. Clean boost to Dumble to TS808 to Marshall...it gets rave reviews and they offer cool chip and mod options. I'm stoked! Here's a link if anyone is interested. http://www.effectspedalboutique.com/product.sc?categoryId=2&productId=8

I ended up getting the double pedal...seems foolish not to for another 55 bucks.

I want to put new pups in my Kramer, a tremolo on my Hummingbird, though one might cancel out the need for the other and two new V30's in my Randal cab, thats more spare money than I currently have. Otherwise my mostly 80's vintage gear is working and sounding just fine. Its nice to dream though.

I'm putting new pups in my Washburn A20 Reissue. I tired of the Dimarzios real fast. I'm going with Duncans...Invader SH-8 bridge and Jazz SH-2 neck...reverse zebra...nice!

I put the invader in my hummingbird, love the sound but damn is it hot, squalks like a _ _ _ _ _ when ever I try to do a silent pause. Only a few songs with that but it always makes me jump the gun to get it to stop. Im working on shutting down my volumn but that seems to complicate my timing accuracy too. Im thinking of trying another style of Duncan for the Kramer and possibbly staying away from the hotter pups altogether. The Invader is awesome for decisive clarity and tone quality though, that thing really chunks out the riffs. I cant even play the Kramer anymore because it sounds like a mud puddle by comparision. The Hummingbird has a very full sound, I kept the stock P90 on the neck which is sweet for clean, solos or backed off distorted picked rhythms. Kramers going to need one single coil too and I might even take the router to it and put in a second and Strat 5 way switch and wireing. I love single coils for the cleaner stuff.

Invader SH-8 bridge and their Seymourizer II neck(no longer manufactured) are my fav all time pickups. Not only does the Invader cook, it looks killer too! Razor...I've never had issues with the Invader...might be your wiring. I'd still love to try the Rockfield pick ups, but I've never seen them on an axe anywhere in a store.
