I suppose none of you have ever turned wrenches or crewed for a team before.
I agree here, partially. There may be a lot behind the scenes but that's not what people watch. Watching the Baja 1000 I can understand, watching autocross or drifting or any other kind of racing I can understand. Nascar is boring. Period.I've been doing it since I was 13 years old. There is more involved in the sport than you would ever be lead to believe.
That's because they use 50's technology, don't whine to me about how hard they are to drive when it could be easy. Get off your asses and make some changes. I mean, come on, they're still carbureted. Not to mention how hard it is to drive the cars when everyone is under a very strict set of rules, there is a very fine line between a good car & a VERY bad car.
Juan Pablo Montoya, who is well versed in every form of open wheel racing has even said Nascar stock cars are the hardest to drive. They handle poorly, they are heavy & are heavily areodynamically challenged.
It takes ONE hell of a driver to wheel one of those cars around a track, even if it is left hand turns only.![]()

It's sad to see Nascar still holds it's 'Redneck' image to so many ignorant & misinformed people. Go to a race and you will see hill billies & rednecks outnumbered by 'normal' acting & looking people.
