"National Treasure" was probably the most insulting movie I've ever seen

I think the one preview of National Treasure I saw cost more $$$ than every academy award winning flick of the past five years.

Money = good art

the stupidest part in DAT was when they OUTRAN THE COLD and then closed the door and it slammed into the door and grooled and snarfed but couldn't get through.

if that scene were included in National Treasure, it would have raised the intellectual level of the film.

i was visiting my parents for thanksgiving. their house is under heavy construction so there's no couches, tvs, computers, family/living/dining rooms, etc.

they were going to see it, invited me along, said they'd pay; i had 3 hours before my ride back to boston was coming, and my alternative was sitting in the kitchen doing nothing, so i figured what the heck.

the heck.

oh don't get me wrong: it was bad. i thought the ben franklin x-ray specs was kind of funny, especially as the movie took itself so seriously. the pipe being a key was funny too, and the ending was REDICULOUS.

as i'm trying to think of insulting movies i keep thinking of the matrix sequels...
there are more; just wait!

yes chupe exactly, but i think there was a confluence of situations that made it one of the rarely-appropriate times!

i was stuck in connecticut for those three aforementioned hours. plus i wanted to spend some more time with the family and they were going. in retrospect, hitting my head with a rolling pin for three hours would've been better, but come on, look at it from my point of view at the time.
