NCABD! (pics and clip!)

Those cabs do look cool, but they sound terrible.
I haven't heard a better cab through a 6505+, the mesa 4x12 I played at a store with one sounded like complete shit, sounded muddy in comparison to the valveking cab they had... The vader made the 6505+ sound so tight and clear I couldn't believe I was playing through one.

Something must have been wrong with the mesa then. Those vaders just sound really brittle and scratchy. I used some on a few tours and couldn't get rid of them fast enough.

I think he would prefer this.

How about a Klops?

oh zinger......

Nah those vader cabs like shit sorry dude. Sounds are subjective, but there is a reason why mesa cabs are in a set of what are the most used out there.

Also there was definitely nothing wrong with the vaders I used. There were 4 of them so either their quality control sucks or their cabs do. Either or thats not good.

So you prefer a boomy, bassy, farty sound over a tight, clear and maybe a bit cold sound? Playing death metal through a mesa oversized is like playing blues through a 6505...

ROFL, as if all sneap tones recorded with that setup are boomy, bassy and farty. IF ONLY HE'D HAD A VADER

I've never met anyone from opposite land before! WELCOME BROTHER, THIS BE EARTH!

Seriously though, the 6505 was actually, arguably, originally a blues amp, and does it exceedingly well. I've got no experience with Vaders so I can't comment on your experience, but your experience with Mesa cabs certainly doesn't add up. I'm not saying you're wrong by any measure, that may well have been your experience, but if that's the case then I urge you to work with them again, especially in a recording capacity.

They are very dark, and if you prefer the sound of a Vader cab then it's no wonder you didn't like it. But in terms of frequency balance (particularly under a microphone) there isn't much better. Spend some quality time with one.

An on an entirely different note, I went to their website to laugh heartily at the list of endorsed artists, and was greeted with staggering professionalism:

Meanwhile, talk about some demographic mismatching with the ad targeting (I love imagining all these hairy grunting death metal guys disinfecting their kitchens and brushing their little princess' teeth :D)

I can get seriously good blues and light drive tones from my 5150. It was designed for Van Halen. As far as I know his tone is known as the 'brown' sound.

Yes of course it became one of the best 'metal' amps but it can do more than people give it credit for.

I've heard TONS of awesome Mesa OS clips on this board so much so that I had to get another one (which just came yesterday).

This thread is about the DM cab which from the OP's clips sound fantastic and I dig the look of this cab. Kudos to Marshall and DM for putting this out.

Please start a thread with Vader clips. Id love to hear it.
