no, not the awesome book that lovecraft made up nor the equally non-awesome printed book written by some putz, the krautrock group.

they have a giger painting for an album cover, that's reason enough to check them out. any other reason i should, or like an mp3 or something? :dopey:

huh.... necronomicon from quebec or another necromicon? If it's the band from quebec, they kick fucking ass ( they're on tour with Behemoth right now )

No you retards, he said "kraut rock group". Haha, and was gonna say "all i know is the german kraut rock band"..
Soo Necronomicon's "Tips Zum Selbstmord" is one of the well hidden kraut rock gems, its not very experimental as most kraut rock is, it has some riffs and sometimes its gets straight forward. Of course there are many special things about this album.. most of the lyrics are about ecology (some even are just statistics about how many trees are burned etc), or some INCREDIBLE female vocals in their best song "Requiem Der Natur" (if the whole album was like this song, it would be my favourite 70s german album), and an intense atmosphere. But Nad..if you want to dive into kraut rock, start with some other bands first.

tell me where to begin. :) BWD once made me a mix cd with a few krautrock groups, there was one i really really liked but i don't remember the name.

okay quick search reveals that it was the group Magma. i guess they aren't krautrock though.

To everyone who wants to begin with kraut rock, i suggest AMON DUUL II. Just buy "Phallus Dei" and "Yet", its impossible that you wont love em.

This man speaks the truth. Also, go with Can "Tago Mago" & "Ege Bamyasi" (I have a second copy if you want it), Faust - "IV", German Oak - "German Oak."
