Need advice about guitars

I've been noticing a pop sound, like I'm scraping the strings as I gallop. I've tried several different picking positions with my hand and nothing seems to work. I've heard this issue in a few bands but not as extreme as my issue. Could it be my pick size? I'm using .60mm grip picks. Is there a way to somehow mix it out?

U should try lower your pickup as it seems that your strings glitch against em on low notes when heavy palm muting. Your playing style is heavy and not BAD at all, most players today play the guitar as it was their mothers grandma ming vase that has some holy monstruation fluid on it, sheesh.

What strings are you using and what tuning? If the pick feels good it's good.
U can correct some minor scratch in your touch with pick. I had a GREAT pick that i didn't want to change in a loooooong time until i tried a one that i despised, now im using the one i despised.

But to the point, lower your pickup and see what it does if ya want that scratch off. Listen to In flames Reroute to remain album, same "problem" occurs. And the reason is the pickup Hope this lighten up something..:zombie:

wow thanks dude! The pickups were something I never considered. I'm gonna bring it by the shop this week.

I'm using 10 gauge diadario and I tune to drop D. I never made the initial adjustment for the gauge so your explanation makes perfect sense. Thanks again dude.

I was also thinking that the pop is caused by the pickup being too high.

You can also try abit thicker pick and place your chugging hand closer to the bridge,
but most likely it's caused by the pickup. Your playing sounds fine
