Need fresh ears for a new song

Hi !

I may need some pairs of ears to help me improve my mix, any comment/advice
is welcome.

Here is the song. The title is just temporary because the vocals have not yet been done.

In general its a cool song. And I actually like the title. Its always fun to give songs absurd titles during songwriting!

Any way, to the point, I think the cymbals are a little buried, but more importantly the snare is very loud and hollow. It sounds almost like a very high tom. There is no "boom" to it. The guitars sound great though. The high harmony at 2:30 could come up a bit, but I'd be afraid it might drown something else out.

Sounds good all things considered, though!

Do you think this version sounds better ? (OH are louder, Snare gets a new eq and is a tad less loud).

This version sounds much better. That snare sounds brutal. And the cymbals are punishing! I still think the snare could come down a little more, but I'm really digging the mix.

Thanks !! Your comments are very appreciated ! (I have to admit I like the snare to be a little louder than the rest, it's easier to air-drum )

Yes... the second one does sound better... gotta love those cymbals!

Only thing im not liking, or not hearing too well due to a cold is the guitars... they sound a bit centered, no? like they are not mixed stereo all the way.. they just dont sound panned wide to me.

Otherwise, kickass drums man... love the tune as well!

Yeah, they were panned... Maybe not *that* wide... I tried to pan them harder how does this sound ?

Now it's like this :

Guitar 1 : 100 % Left
Guitar 2 : 100 % Right
Guitar 3 : 65 % Left
Guitar 4 : 65 % Right
Guitar 5 : 80 % Left
Guitar 6 : 80 % Right

The 6 guitars don't play together except on the 1:55 riff.
