HI

just have a question about my P.A system

We run the trigger module and the vox mic to a LTO board and then into active P.A speakers

The problem is when our singer do some quieter or singing part we can't hear anything and if we raise the vox fader there's a huge feedback.... now the board (a cheap LTO) has a compressor (but without any setting.... more like preset) but when i switch it on the fuck'in thing does nothing

I try to put my distressor in front of the board but that does not solve the problem..... (feedback/low volume on singing part)

Anybody have an input ?

Thanks

compression on channels in monitoring speakers cause feedback much faster that without compression. use your ears or an rta to measure the feedbacks frequencies and kill them with a 31band eq. this is how its done. there is no other way to get rid of feedback only the "less gain more send technique" and the "31band eq" rest is vocal technique skill. sometimes you can also do something against feedback with roomtreatment to get rid of room resos and early reflections but this is expensive and cant be done in every venue so we stick to "less gain more send" and the 31band eq

Ok thanks :kickass:

Will try tommorow

most of the time its the singers mic technique - get him to get training and watch how the pro's do it. make sure he's not cuffing the mic head with his hand.

ideally you want to run the p.a near its max so work on his mic'ing. get him to scream further away from his mic and get him sing right up close to the mic.

just kick him until he does it right
