Need Help with a ProTools Session.

I'm doing some vocal editing for a band that recorded somewhere else. the band happened to get the pro tools session files from the guy that recorded them. I open the session up and get this lovely little message.

I have no idea what version of pro tools this was recorded in. I don't know the guy who recorded them, and the band sure as hell has no idea. If anyone has a newer version of protools, I was wondering if you could "save session copy" it to be backwards compatible for me and my outdated 7.0 version?

Maybe try downloading 7.1? (it's a free update for 7.0 users on the digi website) I know I have no trouble opening PTHD 7.4 sessions recorded at my school's studio on my PTLE 7.1 setup at home.

the update worked, thank god! uploading a 800mb onto those internets in no fun.

you would have only needed to upload the 3mb session file, not all the audio files.
