what do you guys do in this situation?
i tried compression..i tried cutting with sharp Q's to bold Q's..i tried fuckin De-essing ( which was the dumbest idea ever..) and i even tried smokin' a bowl:confused::confused::confused:..nothing helped..

please help me..:(

real or programmed drums?

real drums, de-essing and eq.
programmed drums, try lowering the velocity of the cymbals. SSD cymbals for example sound very harsh at 127, IME around 115-120 works best.

Try High Passing them.

thanks alot guys
im gonna try all these techniques
please keep em coming
and maybe if you guys care enough
ill post the overheads and see what you think??
thanks dudes

is it on all the cymbals, are just certain ones?

i know that personally, i always get a lot harsh bullshit out of the hi-hat more than anything else...and fucking around with attack/release settings on the OH comp. for a bit will usually find a middle ground that smashes the harsh attack of the hats, but lets the rest shine through pretty much unaffected.
