Help!?

Ok I really need some help with this, I keep hearing you guys that do the whole impulse thing fuckin tear it up!

I want a piece of the guitar tone pie, BUT I cant figure out for the life of me how to get it all sorted. I've tried wager , revalver and boogex and i just couldnt
get a even useable sound :S I was just turning off the cab sim on the pod x3 (which btw is actuly pretty sweet) .....then messing around with wagner and Guitarhack's impulses, the tone was awful! Anyone got a clue as to what i may be doin to fuck it all up?

P.S ive tried searching but i STILL cant figure this out...i must be retarded so forgive me

Just so your aware, there is two threads pertaining to this subject a mere ten threads below this one.

Make sure all the amp settings are on 0 in Boogex. This is an original Boogex setup when I was trying to match the Impulse sound to the mic'd sound. Might be crap, but who knows.
