i'm currently working on a metalcore mix. The drums were recorded at a small "studio" but they didn't sound really good.
I use Samples (LSD Drums, Sturgis) on Kick and Snare. Toms and Cymbals (of course) are real.
here's a small rough sample (with alestorm kick and sturgis snare):

my main problem is the snaredrum.
i really like the snare sound solo but in the mix ... it sound's ....
there's a small reverb on it. no parallel compression or something like that.
I want huge punchy drums like haste the day, architects.
Do you have any tricks for me?
