Warrel gave me some great suggestions when I was there in September; he said to start out at Pike Place Market and just go outward from there. So we did that, did some shopping, and saw my Mecca (the original Starbucks). There's a really cool record store called Singles Going Steady but don't go there unless you have some cash to blow because they have some tempting shit. A little ways away from downtown we went to the Lake View Cemetary where Bruce and Brandon Lee are buried. Don't bother going to the EMP museum thingie, god did that suck big time, I should have listened when Warrel warned me about it. :Smug: We skipped the Space Needle because my friend is scared of heights. Really a beautiful city, and lo and behold it didn't rain at all the whole time we were there.

Starting at Pike Market downtown is a fun thing to do. If you then head west to the pier, there is a ton of shopping as well as boat tours you can take of the bay Seattle is built around. You can stay on 1st Ave by the Market for more shopping, tons of restaurants and Lusty Lady & Dejavu strip clubs. The Showbox is in the area and may or may not be playing worthwhile bands. The Seattle Art Museum is also around there.

Further south on 1st will land you in the historic Pioneer Square area. Tons of bars (I recommend the Central [Metal Monday's is there] and the Fenix). There is also the 'Underground Seattle' tour for amusement.

North of downtown (2 miles tops) is Seattle Center which is also fun to walk around. That's where the Space Needle and the aforementioned (bad) EMP museum are.

If you have a car, I recommend taking a trip east on I90 and visiting Snoqualmie Falls, it's very beautiful and close to Seattle. I also recommend Mt. Rainier, but you would definitely need a car and an extra day to do that.

There a ton more stuff, but can't remember off the top of my head.

Pikes Place market is good to go to as a tourist, and fun to keep going to. They have (I think they still have) a head shop. Hey, you can buy a magic mushroom kit, take it back to where you're from, and grow a cash crop in your dark basement. I digress...

Prepare to get lost. And bad. Take a Ferry ride, outside, not inside. It does some cool shit to your hair. Go see the mountains, and get out of Seattle if you have the chance, and see the mountains like Lillitu suggested.

Walk, then walk some more. Drive, get lost, drive some more. Hit some bars, ask for directions, get lost again. Prepare yourself now! You will get lost. And its fucking fun, because you see way more stuff that way.
