Need inspiration with food (for long days in the studio)

Have you ever been to a job site and theres that 1 wog (its alright, I'm a wog too!) that brings half a fridge with him. You sit down to your cheese sandwich and he pulls out a stick of quality salami, tin of sardines, a french stick, tomato and lettuce which is cut on the spot! Thats me all over.
Seriously, I truly believe that if you eat that way, (not the cheese sandwich way), life in general steps up a few notches. Dont wanna hear, "yeah, but the cheese sandwich is cheap" arguements either! If theres one thing in life you should not skimp on, its the quality of fuel you put into your body. Dont bring some "behringer" shit for lunch, go pack yourself a "soldano" or "mesa" type lunch. Your body will thank you down the track, and as someone said before, performances and thinking will improve, so its a win, win all round.
Erks, I would suggest to start with a good stick of fresh crusty bread, with some prosciutto or pancetta, with some great shaved cheese, such as Jarlsberg or similar, packed into a picnic basket with some fresh vegetables. A good bottle of red wouldnt go astray either, only need the 1 glass to wash it all down with.
Oh, and find or make the time to achieve this, do this for a month and you will never feel better, and it will rub off on breakfast and tea.

sounds like me when i was working - i usta bring in my sun dried tomato's and brown bread - chickpea dip, little tub of olive oil and some red pepper and an array of cheeses! YUM!

if your gona eat then eat in style!

Hush, hippie scum! Leave me to my kebab!

Nah, seriously, you're absolutely right. This time I totally agree with you even if I don't follow those guidelines myself. I'm just a sucker for tasty fat :)

hippie scum! silence you Nordic yeti! haha

I normally eat Rustlers microwavable burgers/subs/ribwiches when i'm at work... but i agree with slayercannibalsuffohead and won't hesitate to spend some of my hard earned on something really nice from the douche cafe across the road like Hoi-Sin Duck in a baguette or something...

to be honest dude, i think you should invest in a cool bag to take some stuff to the room with you... a decent cool bag (or box) will help keep sandwiches or salads or whatever you take with you fresh enough...
otherwise, i'd look into investing in a kettle or a microwave you can leave there...

i wouldn't take anything too stodgy, but have something that will fill you up... as a personal rule, i've always made my stomach a priority, but i've also foun that if your recording or mixing, you can't be sat there waiting for someone to finish a take so you can run to the shops for more to eat, and you can't be sat there about to fall asleep or barely able to move cause you've overloaded yourself (otherwise i'd totally agree with steak)...

sandwiches and a packet of crisps is my recommendation... or crisp sarnies!!

Yeah, a cooling box or something seems to be a necessity. Maybe I could find a really small second hand fridge or something, that would rock :D Just big enough to store a couple boxes of food in it and a drink.

shouldn't cost that much... a couple of years ago i got a Stella-Artois Fridge for £60 for my room when i was a student... holds a good amount so you could leave some food in there like cocktail sausages or whatever... wouldn't recommend leaving stuff like milk or anything of that nature in there...

There are people who outright celebrate eating - I'm on the other end of the scale. I don't like to put any effort into it, but that doesn't mean I'm big on fast food, because even getting that isn't worth my time and effort. A friggin' sandwich and loads of coffee and I'm happy. Well, it doesn't even have to be a sandwich... some cottage cheese will do the trick too.

I don't eat to feed my stomach, I eat to feed my muscles.
Train hard, eat big. That's my motto. Sitting around at a desk all day, you don't need to eat hard. You just need to get a small cooler and go to town.

I don't really "celebrate" food to be honest, but i do enjoy a lot of different foods and i'm always curious to try new stuff and improve on my methods of preparing foods

simple stuff like a certain cheese on my burgers or making sure i have enough Jack Daniels Honey BBQ sauce for the ribs and that... a certain way of making tacos...

i don't often go all out, but when i get chance i do like to add something special to the foods i'm eating...

Loads of coffee is not the best idea, not in the long term anyway.
You'll end up like Jbroll if you do that:lol:

Prepare a nice sallad, if you like too, but some cheese on it, maybe a chicken breast (is that how its said in english ? ) or whatever kind of meal you like and there you go. HEalthy and tasty food that won't screw your health and leave you for 45min praying over the crapper. If you can bring one of those thermal boxes and put some ice on it to improvise a fridge, it's better yet.

You could also do a pasta sallad...it is also healty, light on the stomach, good and there's no need to make it warm..

Pasta sallad! Awesome idea, I had totally forgotten about that even though I used to bring that for work this summer... damn, I'm senile but that's no news.
