Actually, it means 'black fog from a dark forest'

And here I thought it meant 'black cock in a white man hole.'

Christ, do people really think this band is anything but yet another pointless variation on a very tired schtick?

Clearly:

a) You have spent little time reading opinions in this thread
b) due to the above, you have made no investigation into the band, given by your pathetic comment
c) you obviously have little knowledge about the current state of Black Metal and the interesting new directions it is taking
d) You've never actually listened to Negură Bunget before, and if you have, it was probably for 10 seconds before you decided to pigeon-hole it

As someone else said, go back to opethforums and ramble on about your love for your latest teen craze of "melo-death"

Alternately:

a) The opinions expressed by others in this thread are utter shit.
b) It doesn't take an extensive investigation of Negura Bunget to know that they're derivative pap designed to appeal to the trendy johnny-come-lately set.
c) I actually have enough grounding and experience with the genre to be aware of just how unoriginal and uninteresting this band (and Drudkh and the rest of the Slavonic Burzum or Emperor + folk instruments = novelty crowd) really is.
d) I bought their debut back in 1997, and I've seen no reason to change my opinion of this thoroughly overrated crapfest of a band.

I've been on line looking for anything by Negura Bunget and every distro I've been to says, "out of stock." Where can I get a full lenght album at? According to metal-archives, negura bunget means "forest and fog." All I know is I'm in a fuckin' forest of fog trying to find a cd of theirs.

Let's continue to deconstruct your flawed attempt at humour shall we?

a) Wrong. Simple comments of "this sucks" or "this is shit" doesn't convey any kind of authenticity to your views. Expain your disdain with proper reasoning or leave this thread. Your CONSTRUCTIVE response (or lack of) will only prove the validity of my point instantly.

b) Now this is one of the most laudable comments I have read for some time. A "derivative... trend"? There is a difference between bands who follow a trend such as the one you claim, and that of bands like Negura Bunget who proactively provide a strong musical expression of art. Obviously you are stuck in the three bar chord world of Darkthrone toiletry and haven't moved on since 1996.

c) Then share your mighty and credible knowledge with the rest of us: instead of "wasting time" on a band like Negura Bunget, who do you think is more original in Black Metal right NOW? (And for the record, Romania is not a Slavic country). I hear very little similarity between Drudkh and Negura Bunget my friend. Do Prince and Mozart sound the same to your wax infested ears as well? So go on, enlighten us and tell us who we "should" be listening to. I want examples.

d) And thus, my theory is proven: you've invested time in ONE release and based your judgement on that, how musical you are. This clearly demontrates a narrow-minded mentality where analysis of music is concerned. The true artist takes time to mature and develop, and for some, they have the knack from the very start but this is not common. So yes, you've seen no reason - because you lack the vision to investigate further.

i must say when i listened to this band that its all well and good having these folky and ambient parts, but for some reason they sound completely seperate when they try and mix the two. No build up or anything, it just sounds totally out of place. Not to mention the level of pretentious thought thats gone into it. It just annoyed me.
