Nevermore's Obsidian Conspiracy

I was dissapointed in the new album. I for loved "this godless endeavour" and hold a couple of their other albums in very high esteem as well. The new one does mostly sound like a rehash to me. Nothing is new at all and the formula begins to sound tired.

That being said it isnt bad it just cant keep my interest up since Id rather listen to something they did before this one that did feel fresh when it was released.

Im also baffeled at he order of the songs. They actually start the record with the two worst tracks which gives the record a bad feel overall for me and some of the gems like "And the maiden spoke" might even suffer a little from it.

My feelings, almost exactly. I hate to admit it, but after only a couple full spins I am already somewhat bored with the whole affair. I was stoked for this release, and and really quite disappointed. There is nothing bad about it, I should add, just nothing new or special either.

Rather listen to Loomis' solo disc honestly!!

Agree, couple standout tracks, the rest don't quite do it.
I liked Warrell's solo record as much, haven't heard Jeff's.

My son bought it. I used to be really big into Nevermore and saw them on the DHiaDW tour. This new one isn't bad...I've only heard about half of it...seemed mored streamlined as far as arrangements...
