New album Foregone out February 2023

I honestly don't even remember how I used to get leaks back in the day. Internet was like the wild west then, you could just go to google and type the album and add 'download' at the end and you'd have a link pretty much immediately. I know in early days I had WinMX and Kazaa, and I used IRC and DC++ occasionally as well.

Nowadays it's still not that difficult to find stuff, but in UK at least you need some DNS/VPN trickery to properly access.

I had WinMX as well. Back in the dial up days when it took 3 fucking days to download an album. :D I think I started using IRC after that, which was cool, except you had to queue up because people had download slots and if it was a new release or a leak, you'd be waiting all night to download it. I vividly remember getting RTR from IRC.

greeeeaaaat.

You don't NEED a VPN in the States but I still use one just because ISP's will flag you, most often for torrents. Most of us that were around back then took the internet for granted for sure. It really was like the wild west. There were basically zero restrictions. And I wasted it as a 12 year old looking at 'celebrity noodz' that were fake.

If
Something for the Siren Charms lads, Dead Eyes acoustic - without vocals. Taken from the acoustic set they did for iRockRadio.

Not going to lie, it's kind of impossible not to hear the TJR sound in the verses. Chorus & melodic section meanwhile gives me a strong ASOP vibe.

sounds awesome!

A guy on reddit says he found the new album on the mall? What the hell, how does the damn thing did not leak online :D
I just read that. He is talking about the vinyl record. He is talking about going through “records” and also talks about it being red. Sometimes people buy those and don’t even have a record player.

I used Napster... There was another program... I don't remember the name. Soulseek has been there from a long time ago. Then torrent.

But, nowadays, soulseek is the place where I find songs or albums that I cannot find anywhere else.

He said it was at an FYE. I have a few around me. I’m gonna make some phone calls when they open to see if they have any out.

I am one of the few people who never used Napster.

I remember in the mid-2000s I was signed up to something called Usenext, which was basically a front end for Usenet groups. I paid something like £3 a month for it. Always had everything I needed and more for music and beyond. What was available declined towards the end of the 2000s though so I stopped subbing. I think it's still going to this day but no idea if it's better or worse than it was when I left.

Lol yeah, that's exactly why I didn't use IRC much, it was fucking tedious.

I think any of us who were teenagers back then basically wasted the internet by using it for porn and bullshit like msn messenger, AOL messenger, yahoo messenger and yahoo pool :D good times.

I also remember the first major video I downloaded was a live performance of Bullet Ride, from the Columbus 2000 show. It was something like 60mb and took two days to download on my shitty 56k connection. Worth it though :D first time I saw Anders going crazy swinging his hair around I was like  wtf

So I managed to get my hands on a phone recorded sample clip of 'Cynosure' and I have to say I'm very surprised this sounds a lot like a song from Anders' Passenger side-project.

Knowing you guys, many people will be upset but I personally super dig it, it sounds very gloomy and unlike in Flames, but godlike at the same time.

Chorus will be hated on by a lot of people, this is definitely not the cleanest version to hear since its a phone recording but wanted to bless everyone here regardless.

let me know your thoughts :D

More please hahaha

Here you go 'Bleeding Out'

Based on the reviews I've read I was expecting the chorus to be much catchier than it actually is, somewhat disappointed.

The buildup to it however, especially the harsh vocals right before the chorus kicks in sound legendary

Enjoy!

Bleeding Out is meh - pretty much could be on Battles.

Cynosure actually sounds interesting. Not sure about his singing. Sounds good, but that fucking autotune layered over everything is just so irritating.

Can't really judge anything based on the potato quality of the audio, but Cynosure sounds more like modern In Flames than any of the released singles.
