New Anubis Gate - Covered in Black

I played through the album on Audiosurf last night as my first intro to any of the new songs. It's definitely not as immediate as something like Andromeda Unchained or even Horizons but it's not completely obscure either. This one is probably a grower. I do like the last track a lot though.

A lot of people hated Torben. I get that, his voice was not something you would expect maybe? But that is why I liked him, he was a new voice in a sea of metal singers and he stood out. I thought the material fit his voice and style as well. This means he would not have sounded the same on any subsequent albums...but the songs he sang do not sound quite right coming from any of their subsequent vocalists either.

Damn that is one boring song with a terrible chorus. I don't think I'll ever be a fan.
