New Architects album up on myspace

I think it sounds like Comeback Kid had a huge influence on them.

^ This is the meanest thing anyone has ever said about Comeback Kid. They are one of the best bands ever, this new Architects album is such pure shit.

Any time the phrase, "Sing it loud!" makes it's way into the lyrics of a song, that band is done. Shit is so uninspired and fake, nothing about this album sounds honest and from the heart like their other material. Just garbage.

After listening to the new songs a couple of times, I stand corrected:

Cool to see all the different reactions, people seem to either love it or hate it. Personally, I think it's great but then I wasn't as into Hollow Crown as most people. Ruin is still the best one for me.

It's definitely not terrible, but it's definitely not Architects as well... It's not even a progression it's more trying to get into an easier to swallow direction

Not just saying this because I'm a fanboy but I really love what they've done on the album... except for An Open Letter For Myself.
It's not like when you stop playing mathy stuff that you're selling out.
Try to be a bit more openminded on them

Really not into it at all. Been following them since Nightmares, seen them live a few times and this new album just blows. I dont get the huge change. Hollow Crown is one of my favorite albums and had it on repeat for months. I'm all for supporting bands, but when one of your fav bands completely gets rid of the style they are well known for, for something which has already been done 1000x times, it gets kind of annoying. They were one of the pioneers of this genre in the UK.

Got drunk and sat down with this one tonight. MySpace compressions surprisingly is not terrible when sloshed!

It's not Architects, at least not the Architects that I know and love. That said... it's a really damn good screamo/hardcore/whatever genre Thrice is in album. Great structuring for the most part, catchy lyrics, well done vocals, great vibe to it all, cool production, etc. Overall a good effort, and I think it'd be received a lot better if not released under the Architects name.

I think it's a pretty cool album, good to see them trying something different though it does sound like Architectsonfire.
