New Avantasia album details - "The Mystery of Time"

I've heard the first half and it seems like Tobi by numbers. I think he's stretching himself a little thin these days.

Forget what I said yesterday, this one seems to be a grower! I especially enjoy The Watchmaker's Dream (but would love someone to do an A/B of it against Robbie Williams Let me Entertain You!!). The organ solo is amazing and the bass work is quite technical as far as melodic metal goes and really drives the song forward.

Will really have to give this a second listen, possibly this weekend... Age of the Joker grew on me a little bit, after all, but that was months after the listen and I'm still not crazy about it! I have had Where Clock Hands Freeze stuck in my head all week, though!

Its not 5/5 or even a 4/5 but its fun enough with a handful of songs (I'm somewhere in between 3-3.5/5 with this one). I like tracks 1-4 and really enjoy the ballad with Eric Martin.

I'm liking it more and more with each listen. The last track is a proggy highlight for me.

Definitely a grower. My feelings are much the same as what I wrote last but I'm still listening to the album, it keeps me coming back for more.
