new contest!!! lead guitar

I like the new twist to the thread.

Drums. John Bonham (with Van to cover for him when Bonzo is drunk).

Bass. John Paul Jones (we get a keyboardist for the same low price! Besides, you should never hear the bassist in a metal band, so guys like Steve Harris, Les Claypool and Geddy Lee have to go)

Vocals. Bruce Dickinson.

Lead guitar: Blackmore (at least until he quits six weeks into the tour because Dickinson keeps making fun of him, then we'll put Michael Schenker out there for a date or two until he falls off stage, then we'll go with Iommi, who would never quit or fall off stage).

Rhythm guitar: Rudolph Schenker (the original shred rhythm player, and we'll need him to get Michael for a gig).

Rhythm guitar (Maiden has three, why can't we?): Michael Arnott (can play those twin leads with the lead guy).

  Schenker does have a problem quitting in the middle of tours, falling off the stage, etc...and now he's auctioning off his flying Vs on ebay? the guy has always been unusual...and you're right Iommi would keep going like the energizer bunny...

Holy shit we agree on something.

I gotta go now. The world must be about to end.

Orange Goblin are great shit. I just downloaded a couple of their songs the other day, and though I'm not a stoner rock specialist, they really grabbed me. Seriously heavy and catchy, total doom.

The Malmsteen thing. He is a dickhead as a person for one thing. He is technical as hell, but where's the variation? A friend saw him, and he loves malmsteen, he said it was fun, but the damn solos was mostly just one solo played different. What I can't stand with him is just that, everything sounds the same.

Malmsteen has his issues, for sure, but he's not a total asshole -- he treats his fans pretty well. My brother was telling me how Yngwie gives everybody a little bit of time at his shows if you hang around afterwards or get there early enough for a soundcheck. I just wouldn't want to be in his band... speaking of which, one highly underrated guitarist is Tore Ostby from Ark, the band that features Yngwie's touring outfit of last year. I enjoy listening to Ostby a lot more than Malmsteen.

Everyone has their own rythm and lead. Everyone is different and alot of them sound good. One thing that i have an opinon on is that i think randy rhodes is a better guitarist than zakk wylde. Better because Zakk wylde didnt make up those songs.. Randy did. He just listened and copied. Im not saying zakk isn't good because hes a hella guitar player but Randy rhodes was doing all that solo shit with old equip. amp ect.. and he still sounded good. If randy was still alive i believe he would of improved greatly even though he is already "great"....

P.s. random poster... lol

god.... i really hate it when random people come on the board and ressurect two year old threads. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
