Hey everyone.. I joined this forum not too long ago to get some good info on recording/mixing for my bands new EP and fell in love with it. We decided to take a DIY approach so here is the mix I rigged up for the band.
The mix lowdown for anyone whos curious.
Tone from AXE-FX's DAS Metal (Diezel VH4) and the German Cabinet sim with the Dynamic 121 mic I think.
Guitar was Ibanez RG 1570 with BareKnuckle Cold Sweat PUs
Bass was from AXE FX also using the SVT (Ampeg) model
Drums were S2.0 Avatar, excluding the kick which was Metal Foundry (some extra samples layered in)
Vocals were done with a SM7B with no preamp (Just firepod preamps)
Plugins used..
I used the wavs (SSL,L1, L2, S1, Rcomp, RVox, C1 etc.)
Fab Filter Pro Q for EQ
Sound Toys Echoboy and Crystallizer for Delay and vocal ambiance
Sonnox Oxford Inflator
Sonalksis Compressors
Thanks for checking it out, I worked pretty hard on it.. Please critique it and if you guys have questions about anything Ill be happy to spill the beans
Might also be releasing the AXE FX patch to those who are interested
