New EMG-81! Spawn of Possession song intro cover (AD/Revalver)

Hey! I havn't been on here for a while.. Anyways;

Just got my new EMG-81 for my guitar, and I think it sounds awesome so far.

Here's a little recording I did to try it out.

The clean guitar is my passive Duncan Design neck mic.

Edit: BTW the guitartone is meant to be like the Spawn of Possession one, I tryed my best, and I think I pretty much nailed it. It's not really a tone I'd go for, but it suits the music they play!

With distant, do you mean scooped? Then yes. And loads of highs ( blah ).

Shit dude, that's pretty damn close! I think the guitars are maybe a tad overgained or just a tad too much high end (maybe high mids?). Even the drums at the end sound very close....... also you nailed that slightly-too-quick fade in they've got on that song (it's always bugged me haha).

Wanna lay down any other SoP stuff?!

i never digged spawn of possessions guitar sound that much, always sounded like practice amps to me.

Thanks man! I agree with you on that though. I hear it now, after a good night sleep.
About the drums.. I just got a kick I thought sounded something alike, and EQ it after my taste. The snare is the preset from when you start AD. I havn't even changed the volume! Because it's just 2 hits throught the entire intro, and it sounded descent (boxy.. bad.. like I want it).

Fade in is epic haha.

I might record some other song if I feel like it ^^ I'm more motivated now when I got my EMG. Although most of there songs are to complicated for me... I think.. Havn't tried.

The JSX. Both for Clean and Distortion.

Hmm.. Maybe I'll open the project and do some tweaking now, then. This was just a small late-night mix I made anyway ^^

It's my guitar downtuned, through AmpexSVX and a limiter.
I'm going to buy a bass when I get money ^^ New computer is #1 though.
