...as i´m a small part of the prophecy family i got the information, that Markus Stock (aka Schwadorf etc.) is starting recording new Empyrium material...on a phone call, he said, it´ll be i mixture from old stuff in a new sound and new tunes.

...great news, but why...????

a nice weekend!

here the official Prophecy Text:

SCHWADORF and HELM enter Studio
Ulf Theodor Schwadorf and Thomas Helm are entering the Studio E to re-arrange old material and to record new songs.

Seriously why do bands like Immortal, Emperor and Empyrium even bother announcing they're going to break up, if it's going to be 3-5 years before they get together again to record?

I read that too earlier, but I didn't take it to mean it was necessarily going to be Empyrium material. But if you've spoken to him on the phone, I guess that's as reliable as anything.

If this does happen, this is pretty much the best thing ever. I haven't really enjoyed anything he's done since, at least not even close to Empyrium.

My favourite band ever pretty much.

I guess Schwadorf wanted to "explore new avenues" or something, even as he did in Empyrium themselves. He's clearly not one to stick to the same formula. But I'm glad he's come to his senses and seen that everything else he's done clearly hasn't worked as well.

If this means "old stuff" as in the metal albums they did, then I for one am glad. As much as I love the last 2 Empyrium albums, I don't necessarily need any more material in that style. I really don't think there was anywhere else to go after Weiland.

I'd wager the new album is going to be basically a metal album (with liberal use of acoustics, of course). They obviously haven't lost the passion for making metal, as all their post-Empyrium projects are full of heavy guitar

With Helm singing, evidently, who of course didn't appear on either of the metal albums. So that will be something new.

Has anyone else heard the new Noekk btw? I have it right here, but haven't listened yet. Will do now I think.

But there were grim vox on Weiland that sounded great. I'm not sure who did those, but he did them well

That would be wunderbar. This is great news, or at least it's something to look forward to.

Have these guys ever toured (in any capacity, whether Noekk or whatever)?

I know The Vision Bleak have played live, not sure about any of the other projects though.

This new Noekk album is pretty bad on first listen.

...ok...many questions...may i can answer at least one (and have some ...is "wunderbar" now an engl. term???)

...Tour...No...Markus has never been with Empyrium on Tour neither with Noekk but of course The Vision Bleak and i think one concert (ore some more?) with The Sun of The Sleepless (very fine BM)...

...old/new stuff...He wasn´t clear due to he isn´t clear about that (i reckon)...

...BUt somebody mentioned Grim Vocals on Weiland..."Schwä(ae)ne im Schilf" is one of the best songs ever...Really...So I can´t understand that some people making/listening to fine music (e.g. Agallochs Don Anderson) don´t like this song more than others on the Neofolk Sampler "Looking for Europe", wher this song is on of the 4 cd´s...

...i´ll try to get some more info´s...

...my 1st thought was: Martin (Koller - Head of Prophecy) needs money :O)

Sorry Im a little confused, your saying many people do not like this song? I think it is a fantastic song personally, I dont think I have heard any negative comments about it to speak of. Erik was wondering who actually sang the Grim vocals on Weiland, we arent sure if it was Helm or not.

...no, noooooooo...you misunderstood me or i think i tried to write all my thoughts in a sentence without any punctuation and sense  ...

I´ve spoken to some of above mentioned people and they weren´t fascinated by this song as we are...They sometimes didn´t noticed this song besides almost of these strange Neofolk tunes ...Any clarities left ?...Forget it...

...It´s GReat and Markus was singing...Check out Sun of the sleepless... HIs BM project...:headbang:

PS: i have to think about my way of putting my thoughts into a sense making format...anyway CHEERS :Smokin:
