Sounds like it should be as great as the last two Ensiferum albums!

Cant wait to buy it, heard some samples and it sounds pretty good. Not as great as the first two, but thats understandable(Jari left). Still pretty catchy, melodic, and fast.

Now where's the new Wintersun cd?

Ensiferum's Victory Songs is a solid CD, I grabbed is like 3 weeks ago. Good stuff, not as bad as most thought without Jari.

Does anyone else here have much higher hopes pinned on the new Wintersun album? I doubt I'll be picking up the new Ensiferum disc.

I think Wintersun is better and most likely will put out a better album but Ensiferum's latest is still good!

I don't really like it. The new guy has a pretty generic cookie voice, imo and rarely changes the way he sings each song. He always seems to be at the same tempo no matter the music behind him. I don't mind Lady in Black (which only comes with the One More Magic Potion single) and Wanderer but the rest I listen to without hearing any actual songs. Just sounds like one long song with nothing sticking out. I kind of feel like they look Slayer of Light and extended it 40 minutes.

It's not bad. I also prefer Jari, but they still have those catchy melodies and choruses that grab my attention.
