To see the "Fear Of The Dark" promo video.
It is edited down from 7 mins to 4 mins to conform with MTV Japan and other media outlets. Licensing is still being worked out for USA/World Airplay, but since the server is on Japanese soil, and Licensing theres a done deal, you can get a sneak peak ! :headbang: :kickass: :headbang: :kickass:

Good one Mark..By the way, it was great to see a lot of publicity in Japan during the A Matter Of Life And Death Tour..A lot of ppl were going "who are the Iron MaidenS"..I told them all about the ladies and they were surprised haha.:kickass:

The girls look great in the video but I really don't understand what the story's meant to be with the other girl. Oh well, it's cool nonetheless! :D

 You and me both, Jenna!!! That footage was shot up north and was all the director's idea. We had no idea what he was gonna do.

Funny - back when I first started singing I had a friend who did wardrobe for a lot of music videos
(she was the one who dressed the girls in Motley Crue's Girls Girls Girls vid, among others). I used to help her out to make a little extra money and to learn that part of the business. And from what I learned - most of the artists had the same experience - the director comes up with the concept and the artist just does their part. So we follow in a grand tradition in the world of music videos! And we're thrilled about it! :headbang:

   True Aja!! Back in the dark ages my band did a video for MTV and it was called "Why Call It Love?". We reported to our meeting destination and were put on a bus, shipped up to Carson City Maximum securtiy prison and told we were shooting our video there. o_O Okay.....what's love got to do with it? Who knows!!! All the inmates were in for life. I was terrified for a while in one of the scenes where they had us playing in an actual cell with the real inmates along the outside of the cell! I refused to allow them to stand right behind me cuz it was only inches away from by butt. Check it out and have a good laugh at my hair! LOLOL!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQm1_z0EsD4

Also another video we shot years later they had us sign a rock that was featured at the end of the video for a giveaway promo thing. We asked what the rock was for anyway, and they said "Oh because the song is called Time To Rock!" - well, the song was called Time To Run so the whole point of the video made No sense at ALL but we already spent the entire day shooting footage that made no sense at all!!! Bwahaha~

At least this Fear of the Dark video makes a little more sense than these did! LOL, but not much I agree!!!

Glad I wasn't the only one clueless then!!

Linda - I remember seeing the vid for Why Call It Love and thinking the exact same thing as you!! I didn't know it was a real prison tho!! Did you have to sign anything about hostage situations? When Metallica shot the video for St Anger in San Quentin, they had to sign a disclaimer saying that basically if they got taken hostage the prison staff wouldn't negotiate their release in exchange for the release of an inmate.

Haha! I don't remember what we had to sign, I just remember that all the inmates you see are real and in for a minimum of one life sentence. The ones included in the video on the outside of the prison cell earned that privilege by good behaviour. Geez. They were mostly murderers there all around us. They had to hide us all in various locked offices as we were escorted throughout the prison to keep us out of view of the inmates as they were walked single file to meal times and let out in the yard for outside time. Many of them were helping us and the camera crew and seemed just like ordinary people and appreciative of the opportunity to do something different at the prison, but then in the back of your head you remember "oh wait, this is the guy who did a triple murder and this is the one who is in for raping a girl." (We were told what each one did who was working with us in private) Very strange times, but they do need human contact too and we all gave them hugs at the end of the long weekend and wished them well.

Anyway..............if anyone is in Japan, please request this "Fear of the Dark" video on MTV!!!! Get us out there to Japan please!!! :headbang:

Nice videos.

"Why Call It Love".....Damn that song is so good. It should have been a big hit & broke the band to fame. Gorgeous production with the sound.

That was (is) a great song, but my all time favorite was (is)
"Time To Run". :headbang:
Have all their songs downloaded on my ipod o.k. most of their songs.

That is a great tune but for me, it doesn't beat Lied To Me or Going Mad. I love those songs so much!!! I love the machine gun vocals of Lied To Me and how powerful Gigi's voice is on Going Mad. Great stuff!!! :kickass:

I must agree Going Mad is awesome

But what about, Better Off Dead :headbang:
you just want to keep rocking your head.:headbang:

Was a video ever made of Better Off Dead?
Think of the possibilities wifes picking up husbands clothes sees lipstick on the collar or finds condom wrapper in the car (busted), zoom in on her eyes they turn evil red :Shedevil: . Then all the possibilities run thru her mind of his distruction. Nothing to gruesome, just hilarious. In between Phantom blue playing or behind the women, pretty much singing in her ear like the angel and devil on your shoulder.

M.M.

A great tune also - there's not a bad song on that album! Also love You're Free and My Misery. Ever see the video for Little Man on their video? It's hilarious! :D

Check it out and have a good laugh at my hair!

Why would we laugh? It was perfectly OK,back then, and I personally wish that those times when hairdos like this were totally normal, would never end!

(OMG this singer is hot as hell!!! Not like the other members wouldn't be though...)
