New Firestudio tube

Great, another starved plate design... Only 2 pre's? Lame

These guys keep churning out new products without updating or fixing their problems (they have multiple units out there with faulty drivers... firebox, firestudio 26x26). I cant use the extra 8 channels of ADAT because of this and it acts weird all the time. Seriously, ignore presonus until they got their shit together

It looks like only two of the channels are tube. I see two neutrik combos on the front panel as well as eight more on the back. I also see six line ins.

If they have to put LEDs back there to make it look like they're actually *doing* something (pro tip: chances are those things are going to be starved-plate, so they're just a more expensive way of doing simple things with no improvement at all - at best) I'm going to be pissed.

Someday people won't jack off to the thought of fucking light bulbs being magical tone fairies that make everything sound better because 'D00D... they're tubes! Like those old Marshall amps used to have, and stuff!'... I hope...

If it were a properly done set of tube stages, you might get away with keeping a HEAVILY COMPRESSED signal between -3 and 3 db and get some 'saturation' that way, but you're not getting that kind of hardware in something like this. Stick to SS and get *proper* tube gear separately if you must.

The FireStudio Tube’s Limiter features a VCA-based ultra fast RMS and peak detection circuit used in the award-winning DigiMax 96K, delivering the most musical limiter available; able to catch the fastest transients eliminating the possibility of clipping during recording while maintaining musicality.

someone needs to tell presonus that A)there's no way in hell that they make the most "musical" limiter in the world, and that B)if you have to tame peaks with a comp/limiter during tracking, you're doing something wrong
