Well, after litterally years of searching the net and local shops for the guitar that would make me happy, I've found it! A Schecter C1 30th Anniversary LTD ED.
The thing plays as though it was made for me, and the contour on the back really fits well. I'd say it's the most comfortable guitar i've ever played!
I'm now pretty content with my gear. A TS might find it's way into my rig one day, but i'm no Delay/ Wah/ Random FX nut, so here's to some content jamming :kickass:

UPDATE
So I made my first clip with my new guitar. I took some time with mic placement and amp tone, but my monitoring for tracking set up isn't quite ideal, so you might have to exuse the sloppy playing.

As for the tone, I think it came up pretty good, thoguh it could use some more low end balls. It's the intro to AE's Dead Bury Their Dead. Enjoy.

Nice, it seems to look even sexier in the photos than in real life. I love how lighting really brings that flame maple out.

Make sure to get some recordings up, with your current rig you should be getting very good sounds!

Hehe, I actually dissagree. In the shop it looked ok, better in the pictures, but when you get it in your hands under decent light, it has the trans-black thing going on, and at times it ahs a sort of gun metal/ blue/ green tinge to it.
I'm planing on doing some recording as soon as I can spare some time away from learning some folk song for the band :p

Very nice choice. My C-7 still has the same feel and touch, even after raising the strings past twice their original fate and putting on huge strings it plays better than almost anything else I've played, and that holy-shit-this-is-a-great-guitar feeling doesn't go away, so enjoy.

Thanks man. What I just realised about the C1 over my old Jackson, is that the mid knob on my amp can now go past 4 without sounding shit. Now it sounds even more 5150-ish :headbang: ...er, or JSX-ish...you know what I mean.

That's a JB/'59 set so it's pretty scooped on its own from the start, plus it's more 'spread', so to speak, in just seeming to be wider and having more usable range in high and low end.

EDIT (Unclear): The '59 isn't scooped, but it wasn't made to be played at 10-0-10 and it'll keep its character as a neck pickup from one end of the knob to the other; the JB can take a lot of mid cranking. END EDIT.

Clips?

Yes, I've had the Hellraiser for almost a year now and that 'holy hell this is an awesome guitar' feeling doesn't go away. I'm still amazed that Schecter can offer such quality hardware at such a low price.

The C1 30th actually came with a Custom/'59, though everyone, even the guys at the shop I bought it from thought it was a JB. I can see what you mean about them being spread, the tone is really full, of course the Mahogany would have a bit to do with that too. It's kicking my ass at how thick it sounds. Clips will be up as soon as I get time.

Oh, wow, I did not know that - if it works well, that's great. I was just jamming with someone a few days ago who loved the Custom sound, so I'll have that much more reason to wish I had the $60 to check it out. And, yes, that Mahogany body will help you out - and it only gets thicker when you pound it harder, so play it like it wants to kill you back.
