Hello,
One old school square heel Ibanez 550 Wizard neck:

One Warmoth insanely light swamp ash v body routed for 1 hb and original floyd:

To make it work with the neck the body needed some routing. The neck pocket had to come down a mm or 2.
Also the RG style shallow channel for the fretboard overhang was cut in. Once that was done I routed for the neck pickup and drilled a hole for the wiring.
The Trem route and post holes also needed expanding slightly to fit a lo pro edge:

Black stain with no grain filler, a few coats of satin poly, shielding paint in the cavities and rubbed down with steel wool:

Headstock got an ash veneer and new decal. Poly and steel wool like the body:

And done!:

It's got an 85/85 combo in there at the mo. Sounds good.

Wow good job. V's are not really my cup of tea but it looks like you did well here.

By the way, the finish on the body looks completely noobish, but I'm not going to lie, I kinda like that. It kind of gives off this vibe that you you have a home made weapon. I know, sounds really cheesy

I don't think that the finish looks noobish, it's just something really different and you're
not used to it. I don't like the look of the Ibanez neck with the V body, but it's still cool.
An RGA style body with 1 humbucker, a fixed bridge, reversed head and that finish would
be great.

The Ibanez headstock gives a little bit of a Dave Mustaine Dean VMNT look:

To the original poster - great job, I think it looks pretty sexy if I may say so myself. I think it would have looked pretty cool as a single humbucker model as well.

My first real guitar was an Ibanez V, so, naturally, I think this thing looks amazing.

Any chance of posting a clip or two to see how it sounds?

Thanks guys. The dots were replaced with black ones. The board was pretty dark rosewood to begin with.
I'll do some clips when my soldering iron burned finger heals. The Metal God required a sacrifice. :)

That looks really cool. It's funny you just posted pictures of doing this because I was just thinking about getting a replacement V shaped body for my super old Ibanez RG760. I don't have the wood working skills you do though.
