Is it mahagony?

It is in fact mahogany, unless I'm horribly mistaken. Looks, feels, and sounds the part.

The grain doesn't look like Mahogany, looks like Basswood.

mine is basswood

It looks different in the pictures, it definitely has a more brownish-red color and the grain pattern of mahogany. I've seen quite a bit of basswood and never has it looked like this.
