Those are true but.. as a newcomer you don't usually have access to a fully micced acoustic drumset and a 5150.

Reaper is a pretty epic DAW, check it out.

only the cool gang uses pro tools

Tip 1: Acoustic Drums... if you have to use samples... do so sparingly...

Tip 2: Real amps...

Tip 3: Don't mention pirated software...

Tip 4: Don't mention PC vs Macs...
