New here / live mic suggestions

Hi everyone,im new to the forum.A friend (Degenerate)
pointed this place out.Im really digging the place so far.
I had a couple questions and maybe some of you can help.

I tour as a soundguy and up until now i havent had the money
to buy more than a few mics..I have the basics 57s,52s.
Im mainly looking for a great vocal mic thats not a 58.Ive had way to
many problems with them over the past couple tours.I liked the one time
i used a beta 57(how are the 87s?),audio technica has been brought up a
couple times,audix has had one i dug.Mainly something with a tight
polar pattern.
Tom mics-here I need something with clips.I was thinking 604s but im
open to some other ideas..I need them small.
Snare-mainly snare bottom..I like the 57s but looking for something to play around with.

Yeah.. josh asked this at the Machine Head forum where we've both hung out for a long time. I figured he'd get a lot more out of this place. (the non-existant search function doesn't help though...someone needs to be fired!)

Anyway.. josh = super cool nice guy.
