I heard it and I was disappointed. My co-worker and her husband who are big metal fans also were disappointed in it. The record just isn't that dynamic. "Judas Is Rising" is pretty good. "Lochness" is quite lame. I'll need to listen to it a few more times but after the first couple of listens I wasn't too impressed.

I am not that big of a fan of it myself. I expected a lot more. There are a few decent songs but its not rocking like Pain Killer was. Rob compared this album to Pain Killer but I just don't see it.

Well, if everyone expects another "British Steel," we will all be somewhat deflated when we get it. Just like everyone was wanting a new "# of the Beast," when "Brave New World" came out. But at the end of the day, it was still a killer record. Really though, I'm keeping my hopes realistic. Other than "Painkiller," JP haven't done much some "Defenders." They went for a more commercial sound and it just didn't work. Unlike Maiden, who stayed relatively heavy, and more consistent throughout.

I´m gonna get it tomorrow. So far I only have heard Eulogy, which is kind of odd track on the album.
BTW they should have kept Ripper Owens in the band.

My buddy Diehldo listened to an advance of it at one of his buddies, and said "I wasn't too impressed." Keep in mind however, this fucker drinks Pabst Blue Ribbon and smokes non-filtered cigarettes.

They are trying to kill the white man with that shit....:loco:

I heard 'Revelation' and it was definitly Old School. However, like most JP it would just sit around my pad after about two weeks. But, better than most stuff , I agree ( that's on the radio).

I heard 3 songs...looks like they wanted to reinvent the eighties completely.
I´m afraid this COULD happen to Anthrax after the reunion (if it happens) too.

it would have been a miracle for them to top painkiller, even then people would still winge that they forgot there roots, how can they possibly please everyone.
