New Killswitch Engage

howard >>>> jesse. imho tbph

I agree with thsi statement. I never really got why poeple preferred Jesse as a vocalist, neither his screams nor his clean vocals are as good as Howards.

I liked KsE (to a degree) quite some time ago, but really just dont listen to them anymore. Their first album is crap by any standards, the second album decent, and End of Heartache probably their best OVERALL effort imo. BUt I gues when i was more into metalcore (of that variety at least, i still like quite a bit of mathcore) i just played em out a bit, maybe, or i just grew tired of them naturally.

Living Colour :heh:

there are a few...
FYI the guitarists from God Forbid are black

People have told me I look like Howard btw, not so sure about that.

When it comes to KWE I cannot stand anything EXCEPT for the hooks, which are above average IMO. Other than that I don't like the screeching vocals too much and I don't think they could write anything other than chugging riffs. ie. Rose of Sharyn fails in the mellow department

It surprises me that alot of ppl like the old vocalist over Howard. Alive or Just Breathing was ok, but it's much better with Howard.

His clean parts remind me of Lajon/Sevendust. He's got some soul & can belt out screams with the best of them. I was at their DVD show which was great ! It was nice to see a frontman not say fuck every other word. Howard seems to be a very well spoken intelligent dude, which is much more than I can say about most others in the genre. Killswitch deserves the success they've earned.

They're solid musicians who've worked hard & it shows. They're also amongst the more entertaining live metal bands. The guitarists are also Berkeley grads ! Another Tour is in the works for Nov-Dec. I'll be there...

End Of Heartache blows. I have Alive or Just Breathing, and its not shabby, I pretty much hate all the music that followed in its footsteps though.

I can take KSE in small doses, anymore than 2 songs..and it all sounds the same...there's not enough variance for me so the albums get very redundant.

For some reason the last time KsE toured here, they were with a bunch of emo punk rock bands so i didnt go ... Still dont understand why they were touring with the likes of My Chemical Romance ... :Puke: :erk:

Muse' UK tour has My Chemical Romance as support. My Chemical Romance are popular with 14 year old scene kids, go figure. Personally I love them, and find the astounding number of people who don't realise they're taking the piss, awfully funny.

talent wise? tool destroys KSE, sure. but considering tool puts me to sleep, and KSE is a musical equivilent to a 3 minute blowjob by an escort girl...i take KSE.

really? I find that KSE puts me to sleep because I feel like I have heard it all before where as Tool are exploring their instruments more and experimenting with different approaches to music...
