New killswitch

Kinda hard to beat Municipal Waste, they let the crowd be their presence half the time.

I don't get how anyone could dislike that sort of shit, especially metal fans.
Getting SO into the music on stage that everyone's falling over, crashing into their bandmates, just getting caught up in the heat of the moment and doing what feels right. I just don't get how a metal fan could see that as a negative.

Well one thing I think you know about me Gareth is I love things tight and controlled, and thus am really not a fan of noisy, chaotic, wild, etc., so that kind of punk-style craziness really does not appeal to me at all; just seems kinda juvenile.

As for Adam D, whatever, it doesn't bother me, I just honestly feel...he tries too hard. The way I define good stage presence is just looking like you're having the time of your fucking life and you're playing the greatest music you've ever heard; getting into it, but no thrashing/flailing/spazzing please!

some of you guys need to grow a sense of humour and step off the huge dick you're sitting on... because adam has done exactly what he set out to do.... which is, as a straight man, to still manage to make homophobes uncomfortable. it cracks me up. adam is brilliant on stage... and off.

and no, he's not "trying too hard"... it's just his personality... what you see is what you get. again, on stage, and off.

+1

But when it comes to stage prescence, I think Gene Simmons is the only one who can beat these guys:

Fuck yeah, I really don't like Metallica that much anymore, but FUCK Hetfield's stage presence is absolutely incredible, and even Hammet's as well, that's what I aspire to - that's exactly what I was talking about before, really getting into it and rocking out, but still not totally losing your shit

And jesus Anssi, that vid just brought back a fucking deluge of memories from 8th grade, when my Metallica fandom was at it's peak - Hetfield is the king of the stage!

ZZ Top and Killswitch is an unfair comparison.

Sorry for shit audio, but THAT is some motherfucking stage presence.

Dude, or you don´t get me, or i didn´t explain it clear.

I don´t dislike stage presence, i just don´t like exageration that`s it, i like rhythm flow on fisical shows, no just random movements or anything that have nothing to do with the music you`re playing, i love a good performance, but it doesn´t need to be over the top sometimes you know, i`ve seen Soilwork live, they just get on stage and do a fucking great performance, musically and visually, what do you think of Opeth man, do you see them doing capoeira shit on stage?? i don´t think so, is ok you like those things are cool, i don´t and that´s ok too, or am i wrong??

And ZZ Top rules!!!!

I think Opeth is boring as fuck visually, but musically they are awesome. Kind of like saying "Pink Floyd rocks", it just doesn't really happen. I think really exciting stage shows are awesome, IE: Unearth. I also love kse's stage show and they sound phenominal live.

sorry, i'll take good musicianship over stage presence any day.

any fuck-head can sling a guitar around and jump around on the stage, and music with generic metalcore breakdowns makes this especially easy to do.

I go to live shows expecting to see musicians present superior musicianship, not some ass-clown running around on stage in a mini-shorts and a cape grabbing his dick in front of the audience. that's not talent, that's just a cheap form of entertainment.

Why not just listen to the fucking cd at home then. Or don't because you obviously dislike the contents of this thread.

adam is an excellent guitarist. period.

I've seen KSE three times (and played with them one of those times!) and every time Adam has put on the funniest fucking show AND played ridiculously tight. If he was sloppy as shit, it might be detrimental to the show - but he isn't.

You can't help but smile watching them. Some people think it cheapens the songs - I think it's like a comedy and metal show at the same time. Double win.

His banter between songs is also insane.

I hope the new album is a bit different/interesting/heavier/whatever, though.
AoJB was a fantastic album, brutal and melodic and genuinely groundbreaking (imho).

End of Heartache was a great poppy/catchy metal album, but I thought Daylight Dies was bit treading water. The songs were pretty good and memorable still, but it felt to me like just more of the same. Maybe it's because simply structured metal with sung chorus in the key of C has been done to death now.

I think they need to think a bit outside the box on their next album.
