Christina Scabbia is hot, plus has a great voice. What i've heard from the new one sucks. The first album was good for what it was. The following have some decent songs.
Christina needs to be backed with a better band.
Anneke from the gathering is backed well. Both vocals are kinda similiar to me.

They're still one of the better bands on Ozzfest 2006. A lot better than anything else on the main stage this year.
I agree the band could be better. I think it would be cool if Cristina joined a melodic death metal band, imagine the possibilites...
I just got the new album today. So far, it does not strike me as an instant masterpiece like Comalies did. However, it has its moments of serious coolness. I'm going to give it a lot of spins and hopefully, it will grow on me like Unleashed Memories did.
I'm a huge LC fan, and the new album really develops their sound, so I'm sure I will eventually love it. It's not death/black/tr00 metal and it isn't particularly angry, which means it is probably not the cup of tea of most of you here, but it certainly suits me like, uhhhh.... a suit.

I wanted to like it. really i did, but it sounded to me like they copy & pasted 5 minutes of music to fill up an album, there really isnt much variation
I think it's great so far. My only problem is the sudden appearance of nu-metal riffs in some places. Not that bad, it's just that about one section per song suddenly sounds like Disturbed or Godsmack before becoming Lacuna Coil again, just weird b/c I've been listening to them since early '99, so it just sticks out as strange a lot to me.
I still would love for them to experiment with a few songs stripping their sound back down to the 'In A Reverie' era. Would mix it up a bit. Overall though, I'm definitely digging it.

I d/led it when it first leaked but never really gave it a listen until a few days ago. Only listened to the first four or five tracks. Not really bad per se, but very underwhelming. I'll still probably end up buying it anyway.
I don't agree, as I said I do not like their new album but they have talent. Also Cristina Scabbia is the best female vocalists I have ever heard, although she could do with better material and the music doesn't suit her well.Agalloch said:

I have heard a few songs. I remember her sounding very folk, or I may be wrong. I usually dont like operatic or folk singers, including Nightwish, Leave's Eyes etc... I think Cristina's voice has more substance to it and is very original.myra said:

Actually i always thought of when i drank half of the glass (with the still remaining half ) It was half empty. If the glass had just been topped off to the half way point, i would say it was half full......
