I have posted this in several forums, but I feel bad that I didn't post it here in my "home" forum.
Journey has just released a live DVD (Live in Manilla) and it absolutely kicks ass !! Being an old guy, I remember Journey in their prime, but I thought they were just "ok." They had a few good songs, but a few too many ballads for me as well. However, though they still have a bunch of ballads, I think they kick absolute ASS !! their new(ish) singer Arnel Pineda is really good and their drummer (who sings on a couple of songs is just as good as him. Everyone knows Neal Schon (guitarist) is a living legend, but even Ross Valory, who looks like a grandpa is freaking awesome. These seasoned musicians show you how it is done. For Americans here, I strongly suggest going to Wal-Mart and picking up the double DVD for $10. I already spoke about Arnal, their Filipino singer. He is absolutely magnetic. He is fun to watch. In fact, I can't think of many better frontmen than he. He is in a class of very few.
