I have posted this in several forums, but I feel bad that I didn't post it here in my "home" forum.

Journey has just released a live DVD (Live in Manilla) and it absolutely kicks ass !! Being an old guy, I remember Journey in their prime, but I thought they were just "ok." They had a few good songs, but a few too many ballads for me as well. However, though they still have a bunch of ballads, I think they kick absolute ASS !! their new(ish) singer Arnel Pineda is really good and their drummer (who sings on a couple of songs is just as good as him. Everyone knows Neal Schon (guitarist) is a living legend, but even Ross Valory, who looks like a grandpa is freaking awesome. These seasoned musicians show you how it is done. For Americans here, I strongly suggest going to Wal-Mart and picking up the double DVD for $10. I already spoke about Arnal, their Filipino singer. He is absolutely magnetic. He is fun to watch. In fact, I can't think of many better frontmen than he. He is in a class of very few.

I am well known to try and "convince" people to try out Accept, Vanden Plas and Tad Morose. Other than those bands, I really haven't tried to hammer people into buying stuff, but I make a serious exception here. This DVD is awesome. Get it !! Journey is a monster.

Just saw it last night and it's very good. The cool thing is that's it's not just the standard "greatest hits" setlist. They really mix it up with songs from their new album (which sound great live) and some rarities like Edge of the Blade. Also with a 2 DVD set you get a lot of songs.
