Well I don't like the new version I do think it;s the gimmick to get people into the album. Luckily the slab has many good songs and this one is no needed to be listened if you don't want.


And yes I do have the original video too, and I love it (poor Lillo she looks so emo these days, I miss the old Lacuna Coil )

Dave likes to write albums with a few songs to hook people with and the rest heavy songs, he markets the softer ones and keeps the thrashier ones for fans and himself. I guess you can call it half selling out, he is not the only artist that does it.

I personally like the video and I like having Cristina's voice blended with Dave's, so while it may be gimmicky, I enjoy it anyway.

Yep, that's how I see it, too.
As for the new version - it could have been a lot worse. I love the song for itself, it just holds something special with these 'farewell' lyrics and its chorus in French.

A video always kills the particular atmosphere of a song for me, and this Megadeth clip is no exception (regardless if Cristina's co-starring in it or not).
The whole MTV thing, imho, has been a waste of time, energy and good money for more than two decades. Money spent on videos should be spent on recordings and tour support.

I think Mustaine didn´t need to do that "version". I don´t like at all but I admit it could have been worse. However, It´s a pity ´cause "United abominations" is a very good album remarkable for many songs but, unfortunately for Dave, that album will be reminded for that "Set me free A tout le monde" awful re-recording with that italian gothic chick on the videoclip. I got nothing against Scabbia. She sings ok looks cute and I like a lot Lacuna Coil until "Unleashed memories". It´s a Dave problem. In my opinion, he has used a "double edged knife" and he´s going to cut himself.

P.S: I don´t know if I explained in correct english words (sorry!) but I guess my thoughts are clear
