Hello everybody!!!

My screen name is Mister Shhh which is kind of ironic since my friends know I only shut my mouth long enough to eat

I have been friend's with Paul for over a year now. I just wanted to get that out in the open so you all know that I am somewhat biased when it comes to ND.

Paul and I met because of another hobby we both share and subsequently I got to meet Larry and the rest of the band. This was also the first time I took the time to actually listen to "death metal" and I can honestly say I have a new appreciation for this genre and ND's talent.

My looks are nothing like a "metalhead". I have very short hair (of what I have left, that is) and feel more comfortable in a polo and a pair of khakis as opposed to a My Dying Bride shirt, black denim and black leather jacket. Oh, yeah, I am tattoo-less and have no piercings either. Kind of a wimp when it comes to death metal.

Besides music, I am into super hero comic books and action figures (Daredevil, Batman and Spidey are my faves); sports, especially baseball; my lovely wife and three beautiful boys. Being a father has been THE most rewarding part of my life.

I hope that I can in some way contribute some things of interest and a different perspective to this board. Thanks for letting me in.

BTW, first person to tell me where my monicker comes from gets a big kiss:tickled:

So you finally posted after all this time! Welcome to the nuthouse. hahah!

Everyone welcome him, and be kind to the new guy, he's not just an internet guy, he's actually a real life friend. Larry knows him well too, so he's almost family. haha

Glad to see you here!

Welcome.....
It's a madhouse, or so they say....... (little ANTHRAX reference there).

I too do not look very metal, so don't fret.
Music to me has ALWAYS been about emotions and not the look.

This is a great place to talk about music. Lots of us have varying interests in genres of metal.

If you want to learn about the best bands who sing about unicorns and dragons, let me know!!!! :)

Greetings, Mister Shhh, from a fellow non-metal looking metal guy.

I can vouch that Jasonic does not look very metal either, but at least he usually wears a nice black leather jacket to shows.

Paul and Larry look *very* metal, but when they post they use complete sentences, spell properly, and write very coherently in nice paragraphs, so they're disrupting the metal stereotype as well :) Vito mostly looks metal as long as he's not wearing a Robocop costume or something like that.

The only thing like your monicker I've seen is "Senor Shush" from an episode of Dora the Explorer that my daughter loves. Oh, that's right, there have been some very unmetal discussions about, and exchanges of pictures of, our kids on this forum, too. (HEY! Legal pictures, not those other kinds.)

So anyway, you fit right in with your unmetal appearance!

Cheers,

Ken

You're into superhero comic books and action figures ....gee, I wonder what you could possibly have in common with Paul. :Saint:

Welcome to the board! Nothing wrong with polos and khakis, my fiancee wears farmer shirts. :Smug: You should at least get some blood splatters on your trousers, though.

And that's a long black leather jacket!!! VERY doom!

Dora the Explorer rules. My daughter just got the "backpack"

Hello and welcome!
Looks really don't matter to true metal heads. It's the close minded poser types that care about that stuff.
to be truly novembers doom, you have to have a N.D. hoodie on all the time, as the whole band and I had them on when I last saw them. ha ha ha!
matching metal hoodies in the summer would be even better! lol

I never got how the "die hard" metal guys could wear the leathers in the summer. We played a gig a few years back, it was 100(no joke) inside this sleezy hall that had no ventilation because of the sound ordanance, and this guy in one of the local bands had a t-shirt, a flannel, and a leather on while singing and playing bass! it was crazy! i had a long sleeve on and i looked like a drown rat at the end of the gig, and I can't even imagine how hot that guy was!

I have no clue what that had to do with anything lol, but I figured I'd post it anyways lol.

Welcome to the board finally, and I still have a blue Batcycle for you, don't forget. Whenever the hell I see Paul again I'll give it to him. That is unless you guys come out and see me play finally :P

Dan, I was totally one of those guys who wore the leather in the summer. I can't handle the heat like I once was able to, though. But I still wear long sleeve shirts and alot of black in 100 degree weather. That's just me. I'm too fat and pale to expose myself lol

naw, you are just a big guy, me i am a fat ass! ha ha!

and for playing out there in the uk, that is a dream of mine. if we had enough people there that wanted to see us, we'd be there already!!!!

I do appreciate the jesture, and to play in england with nd, holy shit, i think i'd shit myself lol
you never know though! :notworthy

At least try an get one show, like the 'Bloodstock' festival which is small but My Dying Bride are playing there and you usually get some quite well known 'Doom' bands playing. So you guys could fit quite well. Make it a holiday (to england yeah yeah i know) And rent the amps n drums. or you could go with ND and share the equipment to cut costs or whateverr...Im desperate here people....It could be the big break in this country... Btw how many cds have you sold here.

How about this, if you can get us on the fest, it will be a plan. I can't speak for N.D., but I would love that. You have a great idea, and yeah they rock! As for cd's, we actually sell them very well there. There and the netherlands for some reason.
