Venture Bros is definitely the best (new) show on Adult Swim


metalocalypse season 1 was universally funny and awesome, with only a few episodes not up to par with the rest. season 2 is pretty much universally meh with only a few good episodes, mostly the ones with characters from season 1 coming back (dr roxxo, snakes & barrels, masked assassin etc). i think dude ran out of time/ideas/energy because he spent too much creative effort on the album, which was totally unnecessary. did we really need to hear the rest of Murmaider? the album versions were all much less fast and brutal (especially in the drumming department, ironic since its fucking Gene Holgan) than the show versions, so the songs i actually did want to hear were a letdown anyway!

On the other hand, I have the entire DVD set of Home Movies, Brendan Small's greatest achievement, and it still gets routine watches. Do they still play that show anywhere, or has it died off?

I haven't seen all the episodes of this show, but I've enjoyed most of it.

but dammit, season 1... I can stand the squigglevision but not Paula Poundstone
